# Basetack > Strategic early warning for independent, owner-operated web agencies and studios. Basetack monitors external developments against an agency’s services, client mix, platforms, and business assumptions. The subscription delivers weekly email briefs and timely alerts with sources, uncertainty, and recommended next steps. AI supports research; important findings are checked against sources. Capability, promotion, and customer adoption are assessed separately. The homepage brief is illustrative, not a report about an actual client. Onboarding builds an agency profile for the owner to review. Bounded questions about findings are included; ongoing consulting and implementation have separately agreed scope. ## Founder Micah Lee Stephens is Basetack’s founder and hands-on operator. He has worked on the web since the late 1990s, beginning at web design companies. He launched a web video service in 2005 and now runs a live video streaming company where web design is a major part of the work. His experience navigating changes that tested his own businesses informed Basetack. Micah works with AI on research and monitoring, stays hands-on with findings and recommendations, and is available directly for customer questions. - [Who’s behind Basetack](https://basetack.com/#founder): Micah’s introduction and role. - [Micah Lee Stephens on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/micahstephens): Founder’s professional profile.
